Nigeria Lookman, Others Expected To Arrive Super Eagles Camp Today

Eight more Super Eagles players will join the 15 early birds as the team prepares for its 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa in Uyo.

Ademola Lookman, who scored three goals in the final to help Atalanta win their first UEFA Europa League Cup, Maduka Okoye, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, and Paul Onuachu are among the eight players expected to join their compatriots Uyo for their two World Cup qualifying games against South Africa and Benin Republic.

So far, 15 players have come, and they held their first training session on Sunday. The players in camp include:

Ndidi Wilfred, Kelechi Iheanacho, Chukwueze Samuel, Fisayo Bashiru, Terem Moffi, Nwabali Stanley, Ismaila Sodiq, Kenneth Igboke, Ojo Olorunleke, Benjamin Tanimu, Ibrahim Olawoyin, Boniface Victor, Raphael Onyedika, ⁠Chidozie Awaziem and Alhassan Yusuf.

Nigeria is third in Group C with two points from two games, trailing Rwanda (four) and South Africa (three). Lesotho and Zimbabwe share two points with Nigeria, whereas Benin Republic has only one point.
