Nwankwo Kanu, chairman of Enyimba FC, has spent two million naira on the team after they were humiliated 4-1 by Rivers United on match day 34 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, or NPFL.

Enyimba defeated Rivers United in a dramatic encounter on Sunday, June 2, 2024, much to the satisfaction of the club chairman.

As the team assembled in the changing room, Nwankwo stunned everyone by announcing that he would be handing out a staggering sum of 2 million Naira to be divided among the players and officials.

He believes that the monetary gift will motivate the team to perform well in future contests.

The Enyimba manager went on to emphasise the importance of winning the league while also expressing his faith in the team.
