Nigeria Super Eagles Train Behind Closed Doors As Calvin, Others Arrive Camp

Super Eagles players on Tuesday evening trained , behind closed doors in preparations for Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.

According to report, there will be a media parley on Wednesday at the team’s hotel.

A total of 15 players trained on Monday morning in Uyo, with Head Coach Finidi George telling the players afterwards that the three points at stake in Friday’s encounter must end up in Nigeria’s kitty.

The delegation of Bafana Bafana is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Wednesday, with the team already booked into Four Points By Sheraton Hotel in Ikot-Ekpene.

Meanwhile, five of the Super Eagles’ eight stranded players arrived in Uyo.

Fifteen of the 23 players began training on Sunday, with the rest scheduled to start on Monday.

The players were stranded in Lagos and Abuja as a result of the country’s ongoing strike.

Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Frank Onyeka, and Paul Onuachu arrived on Tuesday.

Hopefully, Ademola Lookman and Maduka Okoye will arrive before the day is over.

Nigeria, in third place with two points from three games, will face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana before travelling to Abidjan to face Benin Republic on Matchday 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
