Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Sporting Lagos, Heartland, Gombe United, Doma United Relegated

Sporting Lagos and Doma United, both privately owned clubs, have been relegated to the Nigeria National League, or NNL, after failing to avoid relegation in the 2023/2024 NPFL season.

The ‘Noisy Lagosians’ lost 1-0 against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in the last league game, while Doma United shared the honours with Abia Warriors.

Meanwhile, Akwa United and Bayelsa United averted relegation by defeating Rivers United and Bendel Insurance, respectively, in their last league games.

Gombe United, Heartland FC, Sporting Lagos, and Doma United have all been relegated to the lower tier.

Remo Stars was also awarded a CAF Champions League spot, while Enyimba FC received a CAF Confederations Cup ticket.

Rangers International, the league champions, also received a CAF Champions League ticket.

The Abia Warriors and El-Kanemi Warriors will compete in the President Federation Cup final for the remaining CAF Confederations Cup slot.
