Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Rangers To Sign New Players To Boost Squad- Illechukwu

Rangers International head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has announced that the team will sign new players for next season’s CAF Champions League.

The Flying Antelopes defeated Gombe United 2-1 in the season’s last league match on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the New Jos Stadium in Jos, to finish with a total of 70 points in the 2023/2024 NPFL season and win the title.

Ilechukwu also dedicated the team’s league victory to the Enugu State Government and the club’s fans.

Rangers’ league victory and trophy presentation brought their total to eight, and they will represent the country in the CAF Champions League next season, hoping to reach the final.

In a post-match chat, an elated Ilechukwu said;

“This is a great day for all of us in Rangers and we give God the glory.

“This is a victory for the government and people of Enugu state who supported us through thick and thin till we got to where we are today as champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

“We hope to get a few legs to add to this team to challenge for both domestic and continental honors next season effectively.”

Enugu Rangers and Remo Stars will represent Nigeria when the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League begin.

While Enyimba and the winner of the President Federation Cup between Abia Warriors and El-Kanemi Warriors will fly Nigeria flag in the CAF Confederation Cup.
