athletics CAA: Nigeria Women’s 4×400 Relay Team Win Gold

Ella Onojuvwevwo, Patience Okon-George, Esther Elo Joseph, and Omolara Ogunmakinju won gold in the women’s 4×400 m relay at the African Championships in Douala on Wednesday.

To win the gold medal, the team ran 3:27.31 faster than Zambia and Botswana together.

Nigeria won their single gold medal on the final day of the 2024 African Athletics Championship.

Nigerian women’s 4x400m teams have won two of the continental medals available in 2024.

They won the African Games and the African Championships in the same season.

Nigeria needs to run faster than 3:26.08 to beat Cuba and qualify for the Olympics.

Unfortunately, the Nigerians missed out by more than a full second.
