Africa Soccer Gernot Rohr : It’ll be shameful for Nigeria to miss 2026 World Cup

Benin Republic head coach Gernot Rohr said it will be a shame should Nigeria miss a second consecutive World Cup.

The Super Eagles are winless in Group C after 4 games in 2026 World Cup qualifiers with 3 draws and a loss.

That defeat (1-2) was against their former coach Gernot Rohr who is in charge of Benin Republic since February 2023.

With Nigeria having missed the last World Cup in Qatar, Rohr says it’ll be shameful for the three times African Champions to miss the upcoming in USA and Mexico.

“If they miss another one, for such a football country with the best players in Africa, it would be a little bit shameful,” he said as per Daily Post.

“So, I think the players will do everything to go there (World Cup), and also the federation and the staff. But now, of course they must be realistic and say that it’s only three points in four games.”
