Transfers DONE DEAL: Experienced Aishi Manula leaves Simba SC to sign for Azam FC

Azam FC have confirmed the acquisition of goalkeeper Aishi Manula from Tanzania Premier League rivals Simba SC ahead of the new season.

“We recognise the need for experienced players who can significantly contribute to our squad’s strength,” the club’s Information Officer Hasheem Ibwe, said as quoted by Daily News while confirming the loan signing deal of goalkeeper Aishi Manula from Simba, a move endorsed by the team’s technical panel.

Ibwe expressed confidence in Manula’s abilities, highlighting the technical bench’s belief that his experience will be instrumental in Azam FC’s quest for success in the Champions League next season.

Ibwe further disclosed that Azam FC have received an offer from South African side Mamelodi Sundowns to acquire midfielder Feisal Salum.

“We have received an offer from Mamelodi Sundowns for Feisal’s services, but as of now, no agreement has been finalised between the two clubs,” Ibwe confirmed, noting: “We will keep the public informed as negotiations progress.”

Additionally, Ibwe noted that the process of parting ways with other players who will not be part of the team next season is ongoing.“Our goal is to perform well in the Champions League and that’s why we are taking steps to strengthen our squad,” he affirmed.

“We understand the challenges of competing in this tournament and are preparing our team accordingly.”

Azam alongside Young Africans (Yanga SC), will represent Tanzania in the Champions League next season, while Simba and Coastal Union will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup. Azam earned this opportunity by finishing second in the Premier League last season.
