SLFA Commences Women’s Football Strategy Regional Stakeholder Consultative Engagement

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially launched its Women’s Football Strategy Regional Stakeholder Consultative Engagement, bringing together key actors in the women’s game to contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for women’s football in Sierra Leone.

The consultative engagement will involve stakeholders from all five regions of the country, including female players, coaches, referees, administrators, club representatives, and other key partners. The initiative is designed to ensure that the voices and experiences of stakeholders at all levels are reflected in the national women’s football strategy.

Representing FIFA at the engagement is Thuba Sibanda, a FIFA Women’s Football Technical Expert, who is in Sierra Leone to support the process and ensure that the consultations align with FIFA’s global women’s football development framework and strategic objectives.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prince Kai Saquee welcomed the FIFA representative and all participants on behalf of SLFA President *Babadi Kamara* and the Executive Committee. He emphasized the Association’s commitment to advancing women’s football and expressed satisfaction with the commencement of the stakeholder engagement process.

The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority, *Mohamed Alpha Kanu Conteh,* commended the initiative and reaffirmed the Government of Sierra Leone’s support for the development of women’s football. He noted that the consultative engagement presents an important opportunity to strengthen the growth and sustainability of the women’s game across the country.

In her presentation, Elizabeth Alberta Kailey highlighted the significance of the stakeholder consultations, describing them as a historic milestone for women’s football in Sierra Leone. She explained that the engagement will provide a platform for stakeholders to identify challenges, share recommendations, and contribute to the formulation of a strategic roadmap that will guide the future development of women’s football nationwide.

The regional consultations mark a significant step in the SLFA’s efforts to create an inclusive, sustainable, and progressive framework for the growth of women’s football, ensuring that stakeholders from across Sierra Leone play an active role in shaping the future of the game.
