Super Eagles players have arrived Cape Verde ahead of Tuesday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Following the return of the UK-based players to their clubs after the game against Liberia, 22 players travelled to Cape Verde for the game.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Oghenekaro Etebo, Frank Onyeka, and Joe Aribo did not travelled with the rest of the team due to the country being in Britain’s Covid-19 red list.

The team jetted out of the country via Air Peace, the official airline of the team from Lagos.

Before their departure, Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema promised the players a cash price of N20 million if they beat Cape Verde.

Onyema while addressing the team said; “You’re carrying on your young shoulders the aspirations and the hopes of a Nation.

“You must help us in restoring hope to this country.

“Nigeria is a great country with so much potentials to achieve.

“We are yet to get there.

“We may have our differences but we love ourselves.

“Because of this, if you win this match, I am going to give the team 20 million naira on arrival.

“This will serve as a stepping stone in unifying our Nation.

“Go there and die for the country. Thank you and God bless you.”

Super Eagles defeated Liberia 2-0 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in the opening qualifying campaign courtesy of a Kelechi Iheanacho’s brace.

Cape Verde will be hoping to get their first win having played a 1-1 draw against Central African Republic in Douala Cameroon.
