Nigerian Players abroad Orban Nets Brace As Gent Thumb RFC Seraing 5-0

Nigerian striker Gift Orban was the star of the show for KAA Gent in their 5-0 victory over RFC Seraing in the Belgian Pro League.

The 20-year-old scored twice and assisted once as his team moved into the final Championship playoff spot.

After missing put as the Olympic Eagles were eliminated from contention for the U23 AFCON, Orban was tasked with leading the line for Gent once more.

The in-form striker met the challenge head-on and opened the scoring for his team in the 18th minute, reacting quickly to a ball into the box, getting the ball out of his feet and finishing neatly into the bottom corner.

Gift Orban, who was nominated for goal of the month for his goal against Anderlecht, scored his second of the night in the 52nd minute to put his side in control, latching onto a loose ball before rounding the goalkeeper and firing his effort into the back of the net for his 14th goal in only 11 games in all competitions since joining the club.

Gift Orban continued to have an impact on the game by assisting Hugo Cuypers with a delightful dinked pass that was finished rather fortuitously by the Belgian forward.

Gent added a fourth goal after 62 minutes through German-Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha, and Cuypers completed the scoring in the 77th minute to give his team a convincing away win.
