CAF Champions League Nabi warns USM Alger: Yanga SC have a culture of scoring away

Young Africans (Yanga SC) coach Nasreddine Nabi is not giving up yet on his team’s chances of winning the Caf Confederation Cup trophy this campaign.

The Tanzanian champions will face a tall order in the return leg of the final after losing the first leg 2-1 against Algerian outfit USM Alger at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium last Sunday. Ahead of the return leg on Saturday, Nabi believes the two sides have 90 minutes to play and remained confident of overturning the deficit.

“There are 90 minutes left, and as long as we still have this chance, there is an opportunity. It is difficult, but not impossible,” Nabi said as quoted by The Citizen.

“I cannot promise the supporters that I’m going to come back with the Cup. But I say, we will fight to turn the tide. We have the means to do this because we have already proven it.”

Nabi continued: “We saw that despite the fact that USM Alger is very compact defensively, we managed to create a lot of chances. We had more than 60 percent possession of the ball against a compact defense and very aggressive players in duels.

“This is why I say that nothing is finished. On top of that, we have the culture of scoring away from home.”

Yanga have already arrived in Algiers in readiness for the clash at Stade du 5 Juillet.
