UEFA Champions League Mahrez on Champions League success – Another dream comes true

Algeria international Riyad Mahrez has reveled in the Premier League team’s latest success after they defeated Inter Milan 1-0 to lift the Uefa Champions League trophy on Saturday night.

In the fixture at Ataturk Olympic Stadium, the Citizens were forced to wait until the 68th minute when Spanish star Rodri scored what turned out to be the winner past the impressive Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Though he did not play any part as he was an unused substitute, Mahrez has taken to his social media pages to celebrate the latest success by Pep Guardiola’s side describing it as “a night to remember.”

The 32-year-old Mahrez, who moved to Man City from Leicester City in the 2018-19 season, has been in and out of City’s first eleven this season. On moving to Man City, Mahrez won the Premier League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup in his first season and he has gone on to win a further three league titles, one FA Cup, two EFL Cups, and now the Champions League success.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s success saw Man City win their first-ever Champions League title and finish the season with a treble of trophies. Man City were crowned league champions and beat Man United 2-1 to lift the FA Cup.
