Guinea coach Morlaye Cisse has confidently stated they will go for a win when they take on Ghana in their third fixture of the 2023 Caf U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco on Friday.
Guinea and Ghana are currently tied on three points from two matches in Group A but Guinea have the advantage going into the fixture at the Grand Stade of Tangier as they are sitting second in the group due to a better goal difference. Therefore, a draw will be enough for Guinea to qualify for the semi-finals ahead of Ghana.
Despite enjoying that luxury of needing a draw to qualify for the last four, Guinea coach Cisse insists they will be playing for maximum points against the Black Meteors.

“We will not settle for a draw,” Cisse told reporters ahead of the game as quoted by CafOnline, adding: “We have great respect for the Ghana team, but we possess the necessary qualities to secure a victory against them because our objective is to qualify for the Olympics.”
His sentiments were echoed by defender Madiou Keita, who features for AJ Auxerre in France, who said: “There is a strong sense of positivity within the team, which fuels our desire to go out there and win, so we will be going for a straight victory and are not looking at a draw.”
The match is scheduled to kick off at (8 pm GMT) at the Grand Stade Tanger.
