Transfers Granit Xhaka joins Bayer Leverkusen after leaving Arsenal

Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka has completed a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen after leaving Arsenal where his contract ended on June 30.

The 34-year old joined the Gunners in 2016 and went on making 297 appearances and scoring 23 goals as well as 29 appearances.

The Swiss has now ended his stay in London and joined Leverkusen after completing successfully his medical.

“Bayer 04 Leverkusen have signs Swiss international Granit Xhaka from Arsenal. Xhaka has signed a contract valid until June 30, 2028”, the Bundesliga side announced.

“I know the league and have always watched it from London. Bayer 04 is a club with an impressive history and ambitious goals,” Xhaka told Leverkusen media department.

“But first and foremost I see it as a club with a great future. The discussions with those in charge have been extremely motivating.

“You are ambitious and you want to achieve something – I am really looking forward to the years to come.”
