Kenya Tusker part ways with Macharia, Kirenge, Monyi in squad shake-up

FKF Premier League outfit Tusker have confirmed parting ways with three players as they restructure their squad ahead of the new season set to kick off in August.

According to the club’s social media pages, James Macharia, Kalos Kirenge, and Kevin Monyi had left the Ruaraka-based outfit on mutual agreement. On Macharia, Tusker said: “A long-time servant of the club, diligent, hardworking and a motivating senior figure in the team, Jackson Macharia, leaves the club,” adding: “A legend in his own right, we thank Masha for his time; seven years and nine months. All the best in your new adventure ‘dreader’.”

On the exit of Kirenge, Tusker wrote: “We would like to confirm that Tanzanian defender Kalos Kirenge has left the club after two seasons. Thank you for everything ‘Mzee munyama’. All the best in your new adventure,” while on Monyi, they said: “Kevin Monyi will depart the club at the expiry of his contract. Akang’o has been a diligent servant to the club, and we are entirely thankful for his services. All the best in your new adventure, Monyi.”

Meanwhile, Bandari FC have confirmed defender Robert Onyango as their second signing of the season. The Dockers official Twaha Mbarak confirmed that Onyango, who helped Wazito FC retain their status in the top-flight, has signed a two-year contract to join the Coastal-based side.

“It is a done deal, Onyango has signed for us on a two-year deal, he is one player our coach Twahir Muhiddin was keen to sign so we did everything to get his services,” Mbarak said, adding: “We are now in the market for at least four more players before we close the transfer business.”

Bandari, who are under a new board of management, have already signed midfielder Beja Nyamawi from National Super League (NSL) side SS Assad.
