Sweden have knocked out USA from 2023 Women’s World Cup in a dramatic penalty shootouts session ending their title defence in the round of 16.
For the first time since the start of Women’s World Cup, the United States Women National team will not reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
After a goalless draw at the end of the extra-time, both teams went to penalty session to determine who makes it to the quater-finals.

And Sweden proved to be more lethal than the Americans by winning 5-4.
USA superstar Megan Rapinoe even missed her shot.
Sophia Smith her’s as well and Kelley O’Hara who had the opportunity to gave USA the lead when the scoreline was 4-4 missed her shot and Lina Hurtig netted the winner for Sweden.
