Liverpool legend Michael Owen has urged Harry Kane not to join Bayern Munich despite the German side’s agreement with Tottenham for his transfer in Bundesliga.

After several round of talks, Bayern Munich and the Spurs have finally reached an agreement over a reported €120m fee.

However, all the sources with The Athletic being the first, which confirmed the news said the crucial point for the deal to be done is Harry Kane’s decision.

With the 29-year old said to be leaning towards staying in London, Michael Owen advised him to continue in the Premier League either with Tottenham or another club in order to break Alan Shearer’s all-time top scorer record.

“I know Bayern are a massive club and I have huge respect for them but if I were Kane I’d stay put”, the 2001 Ballon d’or winner wrote on Twitter.

“There’s no great achievement in winning a trophy with them. Real Madrid I would understand. Or one or two top Premier League clubs for that matter.

“Becoming the all time Premier League top goal scorer at Tottenham is a bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by one club.”
