CAF Champions League Yanga SC to face Djibouti’s ASAS at Chamanzi Complex

Tanzania Mainland Premier League champions Young Africans (Yanga SC) have confirmed their two-legged CAF Champions League first preliminary round fixtures against ASAS of Djibouti will be staged at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.

According to the club’s Media and Communication Manager Ali Kamwe, the first leg duel is set for Sunday, and the reverse leg match next Sunday at the same venue. “We have received official information from CAF indicating that both legs will be hosted at Azam Complex in the city of Dar es Salaam,” said Kamwe on Tuesday.

He then confirmed entry charges for VIP A as 30,000/-, VIP B 20,000/- while ordinary seats go at 5,000/-. “We want to make a big statement that this year, we are destined to achieve more in the Champions League and our target is to step in the group stage,” adding: “Last season, we did well in the CAF Confederation Cup by reaching in the finals and we want to transfer that success in the Champions League.”

Concerning the progress of winger Mahlatse Makudubela (Skudu) who was injured during their Community Shield match versus Azam, Kamwe said he is feeling much better and could be in contention to face ASAS.
