African players abroad Done Deal: Watford loans out Samuel Kalu to FC Lausanne-Sport

Watford have confirmed Nigeria forward Samuel Kalu has been loaned out to FC Lausanne-Sport.

A statement on the club website confirmed: “Watford confirms that forward Samuel Kalu has joined Swiss Super League side FC Lausanne-Sport on loan for the remainder of the 2023-24 season,” adding: “The 26-year-old Nigeria international joined the Hornets midway through the 2021-22 campaign, and made four appearances in the Premier League before featuring on nine occasions in the Sky Bet Championship last term.”

The statement continued: “Having struggled with injury for large parts of his spell in Hertfordshire, Kalu will now look to rediscover his best form at seven-time Swiss champions Lausanne, who currently sit 11th in the top-flight standings following promotion last year. Good luck, Samuel!”
