Nigeria NFF 79th General Assembly To Hold In Uyo On Sunday

On Sunday, the 79th General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation will convene in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The opening ceremony for the annual meeting of Nigeria’s football governors at all levels will be attended by His Excellency Governor Umo Eno of the Akwa Ibom State, Senator John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, and Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry.

Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, president of the NFF, will extend a warm welcome to the delegates made up of the chairmen and secretaries of the 44 NFF members (including the FA chairmen and secretaries of the 36 States and the FCT).

Members of the Akwa Ibom State government, prominent football figures, and NFF Management and Staff are also anticipated.

Following the opening ceremony, the business session will get underway with a speech from the NFF President. The agenda for the business session includes regular items like the approval of the financial statements and the budget, admission for membership (if applicable), presentation of the consolidated and revised balance sheet and profit-and-loss statement, and presentation of the consolidated and revised profit-and-loss statement.

Votes on proposed Statutes revisions, the rules controlling how the Statutes and General Assembly Standing Orders are to be applied, and discussion of suggestions put forth by the Members and Executive Committee are also on the agenda.

Following the assembly, the delegates, other invited visitors, and stakeholders will travel to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium for the Super Eagles vs. Falcons & True Parrots of Sao Tome and Principe 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final-day qualifier, which starts at 5pm.

Nigeria, who has 12 points and is already guaranteed a spot in next year’s continental championship in Cote d’Ivoire, only needs to win one match to take the lead over Guinea Bissau’s Djurtus, who have 10 points and are hosting Sierra Leone’s Leone Stars in Bissau.
