Uganda Premier League (UPL) champions Vipers SC confirmed the signing of midfielder Allan Okello on transfer deadline day.
The left-footed creative gem joined the Venoms as a free agent, after mutually terminating his contract with Algerian outfit Paradou AC. The Venoms confirmed Okello’s signature on Wednesday, which is the final day of the domestic transfer window.
A statement on the club’s official website said: “Uganda Cranes attacker Allan Okello has joined Uganda Premier League champions Vipers,” adding: “Joining as a free agent having parted with Algerian side Paradou AC, Okello joined the Kitende-based side on a three-year contract.”

The left-footed gem joined Paradou AC football club in 2020 on a long-term four-year contract from KCCA FC but spent last season on loan at Lugogo. He showcased his skills with eight assists and five goals in the Uganda Premier League last season.
On completing his move to Vipers, Okello said: “I am so happy to join Vipers Sports Club! I am so excited to be here at this big club and l didn’t have to think twice when Vipers called me, l just knew l wanted to sign for the club. I can’t wait to get started with the team.”
Now 23, the KCCA graduate rose to the limelight in 2017 as a 16-year-old and was immediately coded ‘the next big thing’ when he netted a hat-trick on his senior debut against Onduparaka FC. Okello, who won the 2019 FUFA Male Player of the Year award, played 119 times for KCCA in the first stint where he scored 39 goals.
He joined in as the latest acquisition at Kitende after Grant Matsiko, Richard Matovu, Patrick Paul Mbowa, David Bagoole, Fumador Asiwome and Mohamed Salem Ekbad.
