Nigeria Premier League NPFL Reschedules Lobi Vs Abia Warriors Game Due To Robbery Attack

The Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL MatchDay 4 match in Lafia between the hosts, Lobi Stars, and Abia Warriors will now take place on Sunday, October 22, instead of the original Saturday, October 21 date.

Following the unfortunate robbery occurrence in Makurdi, the home city of Lobi Stars, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) approved the 24-hour shift.

Everything and all officials involved in this fixture, including the crew of our broadcast streaming partners, Propel Sports are on ground in Lafia but this is a huge human tragedy that deserves our sympathy and support, not just for Lobi Stars but the entire people of Benue State”, remarked Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer of NPFL while announcing the date shift.

“The NPFL commiserates with the families that lost loved ones and the greater people and Government of Benue State on this unfortunate incident”, he further stated.

Owumi revealed that the League had asked the match officials and the visiting team, the Abia Warriors, whose schedule and logistics will be directly impacted by the change, for their understanding. “All other fixtures will be played as scheduled,” he continued.

The final remaining game for Saturday was the game between Niger Tornadoes and Bayelsa United in Kaduna.

The match between Doma United and Enyimba International had already been postponed due to the latter’s participation in the coveted Africa Football League (AFL), thus Lafia will then join the seven other matches that will be played on Sunday.
