Tanzania Simba SC fire coach Roberto Oliveira after defeat to rivals Yanga SC

Simba SC have parted ways with head coach Roberto Oliveira following the team’s 5-1 thrashing by rivals Young Africans (Yanga SC) in a Tanzanian Premier League fixture on Sunday.

The Wekundu wa Msimbazi confirmed in a statement they had reached an agreement to part ways with the former Vipers SC coach alongside trainer Corneille Hategemikana with immediate effect.

“Simba have reached an agreement to terminate the contract of coach Roberto Oliveira with immediate effect, and on top of that we have also reached an agreement to terminate the contract of trainer Corneille Hategemikana,” read part of the statement.

“The leadership of Simba wishes to thank the Oliveira and Hategemikana for their contribution towards the team during their stay and wish them well in their next assignemnts.”

The statement continued: “As we continue to search for a new coach, the team will now be under coach Daniel Cardena and he will be assisted by Seleman Matola.”

Simba suffered their heaviest defeat against their rivals Timu ya Mwananchi at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
