AFCON AFCON 2023: Zambia wind down local camp, leaves for Jeddah

Zambia have left for Saudi Arabia for their 2023 pre-Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) international camp.

The Chipolopolo will set up base in Jeddah where they will play two international friendly matches as part of the build up for the tournament that kicks off on January 13 in Ivory Coast. The team which hasbeen training in at the National Heroes Stadium, left aboard Emirates Airlines and will connect to Jeddah where they will be holed up for 10 days before heading to San Pedro.

Coach Avram Grant and his technical staff were hard at work with the players enduring a gruelling session preceding their departure for Jeddah. Zambia is in Group F alongside Morocco. Tanzania and Congo DR.

Their opening match is on January 17 against Congo before facing Tanzania four days later with the final group match on January 24 against the Atlas Lions.
