Tanzania Simba SC hammer Tabora United to close in on second-placed Azam FC

Simba SC trounced Tabora United 4-0 in a Tanzanian Premier League fixture at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora on Tuesday.

The victory took the Wekundu wa Msimbazi to 29 points from 12 matches and are two points away from catching up with second-placed Azam. Pa Omar Jobe opened the scoreboard for the visitors in the 19th minute thanks to Clatous Chama’s set-piece delivery.

Sadio Kanoute doubled the lead for Simba in the 36th minute with a powerful free header to make his side enjoy a 2-0 lead at the half-time break. In the 59th minute, a teasing strike by Che Malone in the overcrowded Simba box awarded them a third goal.

Then a late goal by Freddy Kouablan in the 86th minute sealed off business for the visitors as the Ivorian striker stamped his first goal in the top flight league. It was a second back to back away win by Simba after claiming a 1-0 success over Mashujaa in their previous clash.
