Kenya Asike calls on Tusker teammates to show desire against Nzoia Sugar

Tusker FC defender and assistant captain Eugene Asike has asked his teammates to show great desire and commitment in Monday’s home fixture against Nzoia Sugar at the Dandora Stadium in Nairobi.

The team is looking to give the final seven games of the season a great push, and a win against Nzoia Sugar will ensure the team remains within touching distance of the top two teams. “We expect a very tough game from Nzoia because it is a team that believes it can still stay in the league. It will not be an easy match. We have to go out there and show great desire and commitment to win the game as a team,” Asike told the club’s official website.

The defender said despite the fact that training has been greatly slowed down by the heavy rains that have been pounding the country, the team is well prepared; mentally and physically, to tackle the sugar belt side.

Asike further added that the last win against Ulinzi Stars has fortified the team’s belief, and pumped up an ounce of confidence heading into Nzoia’s duel. “Yes, we lost three very vital games but we took that as a lesson though it was a bit tough on us. The win against Ulinzi was crucial because it has brought back the feel-good factor in the team and we are looking forward to carrying that into the remaining seven matches of the season,” explained Asike.

He said the team is taking a ‘game at a time’ approach for the remaining matches, to ensure a strong finish.
