Former Liverpool player Sadio Mane has admitted being shocked by news Jurgen Klopp will leave the club at the end of the season.

Klopp confirmed he will not stay at Anfield for the new campaign and reacting to the news, the Senegal captain said: “Really sad to hear the news of Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool. He was like a father to us. His treatment always pushed you forward and gave you confidence. I remember before I left for Bayern Munich, we had some disagreements, but when I decided to leave, he sat with me and told me, “I will support you in your journey, Mane. Remember well, you are one of the best players I have ever coached in my life.”

“He always spoke to us as a father, not a coach. I will never forget you, Jurgen. You will always be one of the biggest reasons for my success in football.”
