Europe Jamie Carragher snubs England, predicts Euro 2024 winner

Former Three Lions defender Jamie Carragher has surprisingly snubbed England while predicting the Euro 2024 (from June 14 to July 14) Championship finalists and winner.

The Liverpool legend spoke to The Telegraph in a recent interview and said even though Gareth Southgate has a pretty interesting squad for the tournament, they can not beat nations like France or Germany.

The Sky Sports pundit then predicted a France vs Germany final for this year’s Euros with Kylian Mbappe and teammates emerging as winners.

“I don’t see how England beat France,” Carragher said.

“We are talking about Harry Kane scoring a penalty, the tiny details. Bellingham’s a game changer, two years on from the last tournament, playing for Real Madrid.

“I just think Germany are in the final because they are at home. I don’t think I’d ever put Germany in the final right now if this tournament was anywhere else. I look at maybe Portugal finding it tough in a stadium full of German supporters.

“France would have that problem in the final, but the experience they’ve got, players who have won the World Cup and been in [another] final, I just think France will have enough to beat Germany in their own backyard,” he added.
