Liga Mason Greenwood bids farewell to Getafe ahead of his Man United return

Mason Greenwood said goodbye to Getafe and their fans ahead of his Manchester United return after his loan ended with the club’s last game on Sunday in La Liga.

No one wanted to have the 22-year in it’s squad last summer despite him being declared free of all the charges he faced in justice.

But Getafe officials took the risk and relaunched the career of Mason Greenwood who enjoyed his loan spell in Spain scoring 10 goals and 6 assists in 36 games across all competitions.

After the season came to an end, he took on to social media to express his gratitude to the club and their fans before his comeback to Manchester United.

“Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season. Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club. A bittersweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you. I wish you all the best”, Greenwood wrote on Instagram.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United’s plan concerning him did not change as the Red Devils still want to sell him permanently knowing his contract will expire in June 2025.

With the season he had in Spain, the 22-year would probably not lack suitors in the upcoming transfer window.
