Premier League ‘I don’t know what’s going to happen’ – Guardiola on Man City transfers

Pep Guardiola says he doesn’t yet know how his Manchester City squad will change over the summer months following the end of the 2023/24 season.

City claimed a historic fourth top-flight title in a row by winning the Premier League last week but saw the season end with a 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to Manchester United.

The summer transfer window will open next month before closing at the end of August. Speaking in his press conference after Saturday’s defeat at Wembley, Guardiola could not say for certain what will happen before deadline day.

“Right now, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know,” he stated. “The players now have to take the decision if they want to continue with us, want to leave or not. Some players come in, come out. I am really pleased for the team how they behave all season. I could not say differently.

“People expect you to win every season Trebles and Doubles. I am good. We are good but not good enough to do it. But we tried. We were there until the end. We were there quarter-finals of the Champions League, we were there.”
