Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Enugu Rangers Crowned As Champions

Rangers won the Nigeria Premier Football League for the eighth time with a 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance in Enugu on Sunday.

Kenechukwu Agu gave Rangers the lead in the 33rd minute, and Chidiebere Nwobodo doubled the advantage 25 minutes later.

Remo Stars’ hopes of winning their first NPFL title were dashed with a 2-1 defeat to Sunshine Stars in Akure.

Sunshine Stars’ Chinedu Nwosu scored a brace, while Ahmed Akinyele was on target for the visit.

Enyimba’s Chijioke Mbaoma levelled from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute.

Five minutes from time, Jonathan Alukwu scored to give the hosts the victory.

At Umuahia Township Stadium, Abia Warriors defeated Akwa United 2-0. On Sunday, Megwo scored two goals for the home team.

On Saturday, Rivers United put up a stunning performance to defeat Gombe United 6-0 in their NPFL Matchday 37 game.

Rivers United showed their control right away, with Shedrack Asiegbu scoring twice in the first half.

His accurate finishing gave Rivers United a comfortable lead at halftime. Rivers United did not let up in the second half, continuing to surge aggressively.

Seiyefa Jackson stole the show with a magnificent brace of his own, demonstrating his pace and talent while leaving the Gombe United defence in disarray.

Not to be outdone, Kazie Enyinnaya and Andy Okpe both scored, helping Rivers United to a comfortable victory.

The result sees Rivers United retain their great form as they strive for a higher position in the NPFL rankings.

Their attacking skill and good defensive performance demonstrate their tenacity as the season comes to an end.

Lobi Stars defeated Kwara United 4-3 on matchday 37 of the Nigeria Premier Football League in Lafia on Saturday.

Emmanuel Ogbole and Anthony Omaka scored for Kwara United in the first 12 minutes.

Adebayo Waheed halved Lobi Stars’ deficit in the 21st minute, and Francis Odinaka levelled five minutes later.

Abubakar Garba gave Kwara United the lead again after 59 minutes.

Alao Danbani and Kumaga Suur scored goals to lead the home team to victory.

Plateau United rallied back to share the spoils against Kano Pillars.

On 62 minutes, Rabiu Ali put Kano Pillars ahead, but Paul Dayop levelled for the home team.
