Chukwuebuka Enekwechi earned Team Nigeria’s first gold medal at the African Athletics Championships in Douala, Cameroon, with a championship record of 21.20m.
He currently has three African Championship titles, having won in Asaba and Mauritius, and is tied for the most GOLD medals by a male Shot Putter in the Championships’ history.
Recall that Team Nigeria Athletics is in Douala, Cameroon, with 40 athletes (20 male and 20 female) scheduled to compete in 20 events.

Nigeria last won the championships in 2012, in Porto-Novo, Benin. Egypt hosted the 1982 tournament, which featured the fewest competitors (297 from 18 countries), and Kenya won.
