FIFA World Cup Kamanga: World Cup race is not over for Zambia’s Chipolopolo

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga still has hope that Zambia can still qualify for the FIFA 2026 World Cup.

Zambia is currently six points behind Group E leaders Morocco with three points. Tanzania are currently second on six points. “We are saddened by the two losses that the Chipolopolo suffered in Group E FIFA World Cup qualifiers,” Kamanga said.

The Chipolopolo Boys have suffered three defeats [Niger (2-1), Morocco (2-1) & Tanzania (1-0)]. “We definitely could have done better. The race is not over yet as we have to fight for every point we can get along the way,” added Kamanga. “We expect the technical bench to review the two matches and ensure that we improve in the upcoming fixtures.”

The World Cup qualifiers will resume in March 2025. Zambia is yet to qualify for a senior World Cup.
