Foot Africa Fouzi Lekjaa : Officially Candidate For FIFA Council

The FRMF (Royal Moroccan Football Federation) announces that its president has officially submitted his candidacy for the FIFA Council.

Fouzi Lekjaa, CAF Executive Committee member, is the first Marocian to covet a position in the world football governing body. He will compete with Algerian Kheireddine Zetchi, who unveiled his candidacy on Tuesday, and Egyptian Hani Abo Rida, who is coming to the end of his term.

Lekjaa is a candidate for the Arabic-Portuguese-Spanish group. We also mention the Equato-Guinean Gustavo Edu Ndong, who would be in the race.

The election of new African members to the FIFA Council will take place on 12 March 2021. It will at the same time with the CAF Presidency. For the latter, 4 candidates have already declared themselves. Outgoing Ahmad, Mauritanian Ahmed Yahya, Ivorian Jacques Anouma and South African Patrice Motsepe.
