Ghanaian centre-back John Boye played a major role in FC Metz’s 1-1 draw to OCG Nice on Saturday as he scored the equalizer.

Boye captained Metz and played the full 90 minutes against the former club of Patrick Vieira.

But the away side took the lead as Amine Gouiri scored from the penalty at the 18th minute.

With the game heading to a win for Nice, the experienced Black Stars’ defender found the net at the 79th minute to hand his side’s a point.

FC Metz finished the first part of the season at the 12th place on Ligue 1 standings and will have to fight in order to escape relegation in the second phase which starts next Sunday against leaders Lyon..
