Cyril Dessers of the Super Eagles delivered on his promise by scoring the game’s lone goal.
Cremonese showed their intent to win the game from the start, and their efforts were rewarded when Dessers scored in the fourth minute.

Empoli, who also has Super Eagles defender Tyrone Ebuehi in their lineup, attempted to re-enter the game but found it difficult to break down Cremonese’s defense.
