According to The Daily Mail, the governing body of European football has made an informal request to the Portuguese Federation to host the final.
And for good reason, UEFA wants to anticipate a possible post-election crisis in Turkey where the presidential election will be held this Sunday, May 14. That’s a little over a month before the final.
With this approach, UEFA already has an option to relocate the final to Lisbon if troubles occur in Istanbul by then.
