The Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters has announced that the 2023 African Super Cup will be held outside of African territory.
Al Ahly of Egypt won the Champions League and qualified for the Super Cup by defeating Wydad Casablanca of Morocco 3-2 on aggregate, while USM Algiers defeated Yanga SC of Tanzania to win the Confederation Cup.
The Super Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia, and a portion of the agreement has been agreed upon and signed, according to the update from the football organization on Tuesday evening.

The Asian powerhouse was approached this month by CAF President Patrice Motsepe to provide funding for the proposed African Super League, which is scheduled to begin this year.
