Transfer window Done Deal: Inter Milan sign Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo

Serie A giants Inter Milan have completed the signing of midfielder Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo.

The club confirmed the 23-year-old Italian international’s arrival in an official announcement. Inter have been chasing Frattesi for much of the summer transfer window so far. The 23-year-old has always looked to be the Nerazzurri’s priority target in midfield, though signing him needed some work.

“The 23-year-old midfielder arrives at the Nerazzurri on loan with an obligation to buy,” read part of the statement on the Inter website.

What did Frattesi say: “You just need to look around you to understand the importance of this club,” he said, adding: “It all started a year and a half ago when I played against Inter and was really impressed by the stadium and fans. This is a very important factor for me, which is why I didn’t have any second thoughts when this opportunity presented itself.”

He added: “Definitely. I’ll be playing alongside champions and I can only learn things from them during training. I’ll try to take the positive things on board and then display them out on the pitch. It’ll be an honour and a pleasure for me.”

Last season, Frattesi made 37 appearances in Serie A, and scored eight goals in the process. The Italian international has received six caps for the Azzurri and he scored his first goal for Italy during the most recent international break.
