Transfer window Man City’s Mahrez agrees personal terms to sign for Al-Ahli

According to reports, Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez has agreed personal terms with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.

The 32-year-old Algeria international – who won a historic treble with Man City in the last campaign – has two years remaining on his current contract at the Etihad but according to football transfer expert Nicolo Schira, his five-year stay with the Citizens looks set to come to an end after agreeing to join Al-Ahli.

“Riyad Mahrez has agreed personal terms with Al Ahli for a contract until 2026 (€30M/year),” Schira wrote on his official Twitter handle, adding: “The Saudi club are ready to submit a bid around 30M to Manchester City to try to close the deal.”

Since joining from Leicester in 2018, Mahrez has made 236 appearances for City scoring 78 goals and providing 59 assists. If he seals the move to Al-Ahli, he will link up with former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who became the third Blues player, after Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante, to move to the Middle East.
