The Super Falcons have been congratulated by Wallace Karia, president of the Tanzania Football Federation, for making it to the Round of 16 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup finals now taking place in Australia and New Zealand.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), I would like to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate Nigeria team (Super Falcons) for qualifying to the FIFA Women’s World Cup round of 16,” Karia wrote in a letter to NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

Africa is no longer a pushover in women’s football, and the Last 16 is a clear message to the rest of world football of that.

A class shown by Super Falcons indicated that Africa has the capacity to conquer world football, and it’s a matter of time to put that into record. We are praying for you to win the coming match.

The Super Falcons have advanced to the round of 16, together with the Banyana Banyana of South Africa and the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco.

On Monday at Lang Park, Randy Waldrum’s team will face the Three Lionesses of England.
