Uganda KCCA FC part ways with Sergio Traguil, Magera to take charge

KCCA FC has sacked their head Coach Sergio Traguil replacing him with Jackson Magera who has been appointed on an interim basis.

Sergio’s two-year contract will be terminated, according to New Vision, following a board meeting. Sergio gave KCCA FC fans and football faithful hope before the season started that the Lugogo-based club had finally found the perfect man.

But the hope was dashed after KCCA FC lost four consecutive league games in what was dubbed the club’s worst start to the season. The bad run began with a 1-0 loss to BUL, followed by losses to Maroon (2-1), Express FC (2-1), and Kitara, who rubbed salt in the wounds with a 3-1 defeat.

The news comes just two days before their match against tenants NEC FC. Magera developed a powerful SC Villa club that came close to ending the Jogoos’ UPL title drought before fumbling on the final day. Having worked closely with Mike Mutebi, it is anticipated that he can develop a good team while playing a style that the KCCA followers adore.
