Women Football Olympic Qualifiers: Crested Cranes squad for Cameroon clash

Crested Cranes interim head coach Charles Ayiekho Lukula has named the squad that will travel to Cameroon on Saturday.

The gaffer confirmed a final list composed of 20 players that will depart Entebbe International Airport on Saturday at 2: 45 a.m. aboard Ethiopian Airways. The team will have a stopper over in Addis Ababa before connecting to Douala, Cameroon where the game will be played.

Uganda carries a 2-0 lead into the return leg slated for Tuesday next week. The winner on aggregate between Uganda and Cameroon will face either Nigeria or Ethiopia at the next qualification phase of the 2024 Paris Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.

Traveling squad; Goalkeepers; Daisy Nakaziro, Vanessa Edith Karungi, Gloria Namakula.

Defenders; Asia Nakibuuka, Sumaya Komuntale, Shadia Nankya, Desire Katisi Natooro, Bridget Nabisaalu.

Midfielders; Joan Nabirye, Phiona Nabbumba, Zaitun Namaganda, Shamirah Nalugya, Jackline Adong.

Forwards; Fauzia Najjemba, Fazila Ikwaput, Catherine Nagadya, Joanitah Ainembabazi, Lillian Kasuubo, Elizabeth Nakigozi, Anita Namata.
