Nigeria Women Football League NWFL: FC Robo Deny Delta Queens A Win As Remo Stars Ladies Get First Win

Action returned to various stadia across Nigeria on Matchday 5 of the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL on Wednesday with good outing for teams.

Matchday 5 of the NWFL produced 15 goals with three games ending in a stalemate including the goalless between Naija Ratels and Heartland Queens.

Matchday 5 also saw the South-South derby game between Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels ended with a no victor no vanguish.

Defending champions, Delta Queens failed to get a win as they let off their first half lead to settle for a 1-1 draw against FC Robo at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba.

Chinaza Agoh put Delta Queens ahead in the 37th minute but a lackluster performance from the hosts in the second half saw them unable to curtail the pressure from FC Robo.

Folashade Ijamilusi levelled for FC Robo after Delta Queens failed to properly deal with an in swing.

Delta Queens have now drew three of their games this season out of five games.

Newly promoted Ekiti Queens earned their first victory with a 1-0 narrow win over Sunshine Queens in a South-West derby match at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.

Miracle Ohaeri goal in the 63rd minute was enough for the hosts to celebrate their first win in a game that was shy of goal opportunities from both teams.

It was a smooth win for another newly promoted side, Remo Star Ladies who defeated Edo Queens at Ikenne, Ogun State.

Two first half goals from Innocent Patricia in the 7th minute and Esther Ogbonna Akudo’e goal in the 40th minute gave the Sky Blue Ladies their first NWFL win.

It was a share of the spoils at the Samson Siasia Stadium as Bayelsa Queens escaped a home defeat at the hands of visiting Rivers Angels.

The visitors stunned the hosts with an early goal just three minutes of play through Montunrayo Ezekiel.

Rose Ekong saved the Prosperity Girls blushes as she equalized ten minutes into the second half.

Rivers United however , finished the game with 10-player after goal scorer, Montunrayo Ezekiel was sent off

At the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, Adamawa Queens did the unthinkable as they put an end to Nasarawa Amazon’s unbeaten run this season.

Nasarawa Amazon were hoping to maintain their unbeaten run as they took the lead in the early minutes of play with Bisola Mosaku finding the net in the 8th minute.

However, Adamawa Queens restored parity through Oluwaseun Anani from the spot before Injoma Mngunegen goal handed the hosts the points.

Feranmi Feheezah scored the first goal in the 16th minute and Mary Mamudu scored the second goal in the 27th minute as Confluence Queens defeated Abia Angels 2-0 to maintain their unblemished record.

After five games, the Lokoja-based team is the only one in the Group still without a loss this year.

Dannaz Ladies defeated Royal Queens 2-1 despite falling behind by a goal.

The visitors’ first goal came from Katherine Gabriel in the 38th minute, and Fatimoh Solaty levelled in the 88th.

Thanks to Mary Aduramomi late goal that handed the newly promoted team a win.

Heartland Queens travelled to Abuja and scored a point as they held Naija Ratels to a goalless.
