Nigeria Women Football League NWFL Postpones Restart Of Second Stanza By Two Weeks

The second stanza of the 2023–2024 Premiership season will now begin two weeks later than originally scheduled by the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).

The highly anticipated second round resumption date has to be modified due to the NWFL’s strategic scheduling adjustments in reaction to unanticipated circumstances.

The revised kick-off date, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 31, has been postponed by two weeks to Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

According to the NWFL; “This decision, carefully deliberated by the league’s leadership, including the Board Members and diligent staff, aims to enhance the overall experience of the ongoing season.

“Acknowledging the potential implications for team preparations and schedules, the NWFL extends a sincere apology for any resulting inconvenience.

“Modupe Shabi, Chief Operating Officer of NWFL, expresses profound appreciation for the understanding and collaboration of all stakeholders during this strategic adjustment.

“The NWFL remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the pinnacle of excellence in women’s football and ensuring the success of the Premiership Season.”

In addition, the seven weeks of action-packed FIRST ROUND came to a finish on January 10, 2024. These confrontations were thrilling and demonstrated the league’s prospective talent pool and dedication to excellence.

The first stanza’s statistics are very interesting, as they highlight the competitiveness of the league with a combination of 14 ties and 6 away wins. Over the course of the seven weeks, fans witnessed 117 goals, which is evidence of the skill and talent in the NWFL.
