Premier League Fulham Share Spoils With Brentford In London Derby

The West London derby on Saturday might have gone either way for Fulham, but their Premier League encounter with Brentford ended in a 0-0 draw despite the fact that Raul Jimenez squandered a glorious opportunity.

Despite having time and space, Jimenez missed the crossbar with his 73rd-minute shot after being on the pitch for nine minutes due to Adama Traore’s cross.

With three positions and eight points advantage over their London rivals at the beginning of the match, Fulham had the best chance of the contest.

Inside the first ten minutes, Alex Iwobi gave Fulham their first chance as well, although the home team controlled the majority of the first-half play.

After being released by Ivan Toney on a counterattack in the 13th minute, Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford struck the crossbar with a deflected shot.

Keane Lewis-Potter then attempted a weak shot straight at Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Two minutes before halftime, Fulham’s Issa Diop knocked the ball away for a corner after Nathan Collins found Lewis-Potter with a long-range diagonal pass.

Lewis-Potter tried to lob the custodian while cutting in from the wing, but the goal was denied.

Yoane Wissa was brought down in the Fulham area, giving Brentford, who are currently 16th in the table but were confirmed as Premier League members for the fourth time this season, the impression that they had won a penalty.

However, referee Graham Scott signalled play to continue.

There are still two league games left for both teams to play.
