FIFA U17 WORLD CUP FIFA U17 WWCQ: Flamingos To Depart For Burkina Faso On Wednesday

In preparation for their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match against Burkina Faso, the Nigeria U17 Women’s National Team, known as the Flamingos, will leave Abuja for Bamako on Wednesday.

On Saturday, May 11, the Flamingos—who crushed Soccer Talent Academy 9-1 in Abuja—will take on the Burkinabe U17 women’s squad.

After the game against Soccer Talent Academy, coach Bankole Olowookere gave a speech in which he highlighted the things that the technical team needed to improve before leaving the nation.

“Despite scoring a lot of goals today, we missed a lot of chances too and we can not afford to do that in a competitive match.

“We must utilize our chances to score goals against Burkina Faso so that the return leg at home will be a walk in the park for us.

“I have noticed one or two things that must be corrected before our next friendly match and the girls must understand the difference between training session and match situation.”

All but one of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals, which took place in Uruguay in 2018, saw Nigeria participate.
