Premier League Gillett To Wear “RefCam” Ahead of Palace Vs Man United Game

The Crystal Palace vs. Manchester United Premier League match on Monday will feature camera-wearing referee Jarred Gillett, authorities have revealed.

The Premier League made it clear that the camera footage would not be aired live but would instead be a part of a series that would be televised later in the year with the goal of “offering further insight and education into the demands of officiating” in the top division of English football.

In order to participate in the regular referee communication system for key fixtures, Gillett will wear a head-mounted gadget.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB), the Premier League, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), and the participating clubs have all given their approval for the one-time usage of the camera.

We would like to thank Crystal Palace and Manchester United for their support with this project,” the Premier League said in a statement.
