Europa League Lookman Scores As Atalanta Defeat Marseille To Reach Europa League Final

Super Eagles and Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman, Matteo Ruggeri, and El Bilal Toure scored goals in Thursday’s 3-0 triumph over Olympique de Marseille to send the Italians into their first-ever Europa League final, winning 4-1 on aggregate.

Halfway through the second leg, Lookman gave Atalanta the lead with a long-range effort that went past Pao Lopez.

Seven minutes later, Lookman set up Ruggeri to increase the lead. In the 94th minute, substitute Toure scored a goal that effectively ended Marseille’s chances of survival.

With a goal of qualifying for the Champions League, Atalanta, who are now fifth in Serie A, will take on Juventus in the Italian Cup final on Wednesday.

The Europa League championship game between the Italians and Bayer Leverkusen will take place in Dublin on May 22.

The Italians have never advanced to a European final.
